FAQ’s about Heating and Air Conditioning

What does HVAC stand for?

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. HVAC can meet any of your heating and cooling needs for your system, including custom duct work, humidifiers, air filters, etc.

How often should I replace my air filters in my house?

C3 Heating & Air recommends changing your air filters on a monthly basis. Heating and cooling your home or workplace makes up almost 50% of your utility bill. Changing your air filter monthly can also help decrease your bill and prevent over running your system so it can run at its best capacity.

What temperature setting should I set my thermostat?

There really is no magic temperature that the thermometer should be set at.  Every person is different, so every home will be set at a different temperature. Just a tip: never change your temperature drastically, because that may cause your unit to lose efficiency in attempting to reach the desired temperature setting.

What can I do to maintain my system at home, and how often should I maintain HVAC unit?

The key to maintaining your system first and foremost is changing your filter on a monthly basis. Check the outdoor unit by making sure it’s clear of debris, grass, and flowers that may be to close to unit. C3 technicians will maintain your system twice a year, typically in spring and fall before prime heating and cooling time.

Should my fan be set to Auto or On?

If your fan is on, your system will run constantly. C3 recommends turning your system to Auto to prevent your fan from running all of the time.
